Birth of Jesus

This window portrays the birth of Jesus. Even before He was born the life of Jesus was of a divine and miraculous nature, for the Bible declares that Jesus was born of a virgin. Through the supernatural intervention of the Holy Spirit Jesus was conceived, but He was humbly born in the midst of an animal stable—signifying that His kingdom would not be of this world. His birth was proclaimed by angles, but it was not proclaimed to Kings and nobles. Instead an angelic chorus sang to poor shepherds in the middle of the night. Mary and Joseph, the earthly parents of Jesus, were both devout people who loved the Lord, yet they also were poor. When Jesus was dedicated at the temple as an infant, they were only able to bring the offering of two pigeons – the offering prescribed for the poor.
Jesus was born in poverty and grew up in a virtually unknown small village, yet He was the Son of God.
